Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Fish fillets (salmon, cod, or tilapia)
  • 3 tablespoons Sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (grated)
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 stalks Green onions (sliced, for garnish)
  • 4 wedges Lemon wedges (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Pat dry the fish fillets with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Place the fish fillets in the skillet, skin-side down if applicable, and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes or until fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and lightly toast the sesame seeds for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds for garnish and set aside.

Step 5

To the remaining sesame seeds in the skillet, add soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Stir constantly and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Step 6

Place the cooked fish fillets back into the skillet and spoon the sesame seed sauce over them. Simmer for 2 minutes to let the flavors meld together.

Step 7

Transfer the fish fillets to a serving plate. Drizzle any extra sesame seed sauce from the skillet on top.

Step 8

Garnish with the reserved toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
