Ingredients

  • 400 grams Fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 2 units Garlic cloves, minced
  • 200 grams Cooked ham, diced
  • 1.5 cups Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley, freshly chopped (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water and then drain the pasta.

Step 2

While the pasta cooks, heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1 minute, stirring frequently to prevent burning.

Step 4

Add the diced ham to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, until heated through and slightly caramelized.

Step 5

Pour in the heavy cream. Stir well and let it simmer gently for 5-6 minutes, allowing the sauce to slightly thicken.

Step 6

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

Step 7

Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce, tossing to coat thoroughly. If the sauce is too thick, add a small amount of the reserved pasta cooking water, a tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.

Step 8

Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Step 9

Serve the fettuccine hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
