  • 900 grams ground beef
  • 120 grams bread crumbs
  • 120 milliliters milk
  • 1 piece large egg
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 60 milliliters ketchup
  • 15 milliliters Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 120 milliliters ketchup (for glaze)
  • 15 grams brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 5 milliliters apple cider vinegar (for glaze)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, 60 ml of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme.

Step 3

Mix the ingredients together gently using your hands until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender.

Shape the mixture into a loaf shape on the prepared baking sheet, or press it into the loaf pan. Smooth the top to create an even surface.
