Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Chicken wings
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 cups Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 0.25 cup Butter
  • 0.5 cup Hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Step 1

Rinse and pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. If not already separated, use a sharp knife to cut the wings into drumettes and flats. Discard the wing tips or save them for stock.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss the chicken wings in the mixture until well coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Step 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet or a fryer to 375°F (190°C). Make sure the oil is deep enough to fully submerge the wings.

Step 4

Working in batches, carefully fry the wings in the hot oil for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature should be 165°F or 74°C). Remove the wings with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Step 5

While the wings are frying, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the hot sauce, honey, and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the mixture is well combined and begins to bubble. Remove from heat.

Step 6

Once all the wings are fried, transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Pour the hot sauce mixture over the wings and toss until they are fully coated.

Step 7

Serve the hot wings immediately with celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch dressing on the side, if desired.
