Ingredients

  • 2 racks (about 4 lbs) Pork ribs
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 0.333 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 2 teaspoons Cornstarch

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

Step 2

Rinse the pork ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.

Step 3

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs by sliding a knife under it and pulling it off.

Step 4

Season the ribs on both sides with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Rub the spices into the meat.

Step 5

Wrap each rack of ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet, bone-side down.

Step 6

Bake the ribs in the oven for 3 hours, or until they are tender and the meat easily pulls away from the bone.

Step 7

While the ribs are baking, prepare the sweet and sour sauce. In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, honey, and water.

Step 8

Bring the sauce to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 9

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water to create a slurry. Stir this into the sauce and cook for another 2 minutes until it thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 10

Once the ribs are done baking, carefully remove them from the foil and place them on a lined baking sheet.

Step 11

Brush the ribs generously with the sweet and sour sauce on both sides.

Step 12

Switch your oven to broil and cook the ribs for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and sticky.

Step 13

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing into individual ribs.

Step 14

Serve warm with extra sauce on the side, if desired.
