Ingredients

  • 2 cans (5 oz each) canned tuna
  • 1 piece large egg
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 2 stalks (chopped) green onion
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Drain the canned tuna thoroughly and transfer it to a medium-sized mixing bowl.

Step 2

Add the egg, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, dijon mustard, chopped green onions, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the bowl.

Step 3

Mix all the ingredients together until well combined. The mixture should hold together when pressed into a ball. If it’s too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs; if it’s too dry, add a small amount of mayonnaise.

Step 4

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.

Step 5

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 6

Place the patties into the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Step 7

Transfer the cooked patties to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 8

Serve warm as is, in a sandwich, or alongside a fresh salad for a complete meal.
