Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Chicken wings
  • 0.5 cup Cornstarch
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds
  • 2 stalks Green onions, sliced

Directions

Step 1

Rinse and pat dry the chicken wings with paper towels. Cut them into drumettes and flats, discarding the wing tips if desired.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornstarch, flour, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.

Step 4

Dip each chicken wing piece into the beaten eggs, then coat them evenly in the flour mixture. Place them on a wire rack while you heat the oil.

Step 5

Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan or deep pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Step 6

Fry the chicken wings in batches for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and fully cooked through. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Step 7

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sriracha, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir and let cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 8

Transfer the fried chicken wings to a large mixing bowl and pour the sauce over the wings. Toss until the wings are fully coated.

Step 9

Garnish the wings with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!
