  • 1.5 cups, shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 0.5 cups, shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoons Nutmeg

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.

Step 2

Peel and slice the Yukon Gold potatoes thinly (about 1/8-inch thick). Use a mandoline slicer for even slices, if available. Set aside.

Step 3

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the heavy cream, milk, fresh thyme, bay leaf, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Heat the mixture until it is just warm (do not boil), then remove from heat and discard the bay leaf.
