Ingredients

  • 500 grams Cremini mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme leaves
  • 60 milliliters Dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Clean the mushrooms by wiping them gently with a damp paper towel or brushing off any dirt. Slice them evenly into thick slices.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of butter and the olive oil to the pan, allowing the butter to melt completely.

Step 3

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet in a single layer. Cook undisturbed for 3 minutes to allow them to brown. Stir gently and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden and softened.

Step 4

Push the mushrooms to one side of the skillet and add the minced garlic to the empty space. Sauté the garlic for 1 minute, stirring frequently, until fragrant but not burnt.

Step 5

Sprinkle the fresh thyme leaves over the mushrooms and stir everything together to combine.

Step 6

Increase the heat to medium-high and pour in the white wine. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, reducing slightly, and allowing the alcohol to evaporate.

Step 7

Stir in the heavy cream and the remaining tablespoon of butter. Mix well to create a glossy sauce that coats the mushrooms.

Step 8

Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper, adjusting to taste.

Step 9

Remove the skillet from heat and transfer the mushrooms to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
