Ingredients

  • 200 grams Ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 2 stalks Green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Minced garlic
  • 20 pieces Won ton wrappers
  • 6 cups Chicken broth
  • 2 cups Baby bok choy, chopped
  • 1 cup Carrots, finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce (for broth)
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil (for broth)
  • 0 Salt, to taste
  • 0 White pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine the ground pork, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, chopped green onions, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Mix well until evenly combined.

Step 2

Place a won ton wrapper on a clean work surface. Add 1 teaspoon of the pork filling to the center. Lightly moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half diagonally to make a triangle, and press the edges to seal. Optionally, bring the two bottom corners of the triangle together and pinch them to form a traditional shape. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 3

In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, salt, and white pepper to taste.

Step 4

Reduce the heat to a gentle simmer and carefully add the prepared won tons to the broth. Let them cook for 5–7 minutes, or until they float to the surface and the filling is fully cooked.

Step 5

Add the chopped baby bok choy and sliced carrots to the broth. Simmer for another 3–4 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender but still vibrant.

Step 6

Taste the soup and adjust the seasoning if needed. Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with freshly chopped green onions.

Step 7

Serve hot and enjoy your warm, satisfying bowl of easy won ton soup!
