Ingredients

  • 14 oz Sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 cups Semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 1.5 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 0 Optional toppings (nuts, sprinkles, sea salt flakes, etc.)

Directions

Step 1

Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, semisweet chocolate chips, and unsalted butter.

Step 3

Place the pan over low heat and stir constantly with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon until the chocolate melts completely and the mixture becomes smooth. Be careful not to overheat.

Step 4

Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately stir in the vanilla extract and salt until fully incorporated.

Step 5

Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula to smooth the top.

Step 6

If using toppings, sprinkle them evenly over the surface of the fudge while it's still warm and gently press them down to adhere.

Step 7

Refrigerate the dish for about 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm and set.

Step 8

Once set, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge out of the pan and transfer it to a cutting board.

Step 9

Cut the fudge into 1-inch squares and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
