Ingredients

  • 12 oz Pasta (fusilli, penne, or spaghetti)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 oz Cooked ham, diced
  • 1 lb Asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 3

Add the diced ham and cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 4

Add the asparagus to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until it becomes tender but still slightly crisp.

Step 5

Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 2 minutes.

Step 6

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the cheese has melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water to loosen it.

Step 7

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat it evenly in the sauce.

Step 8

Remove the skillet from the heat and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.

Step 9

Divide the pasta into bowls and serve immediately. Enjoy your delicious Ham and Asparagus Pasta!
