Ingredients

  • 4 ears fresh corn on the cob
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 8 cups water

Directions

Step 1

Peel back the husks of each ear of corn, remove the silk threads, and then fold the husks back into place if steaming. For boiling, completely remove the husks and silk.

Step 2

In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

Step 3

Add the corn to the boiling water. Make sure the water fully covers the ears of corn.

Step 4

Reduce the heat to medium and allow the corn to cook for 7–10 minutes, or until the kernels are tender when pierced with a fork.

Step 5

While the corn cooks, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a small saucepan or microwave.

Step 6

Once the corn is cooked, use tongs to carefully remove it from the pot and place it on a serving platter.

Step 7

Brush each ear of corn with melted butter and sprinkle with salt to taste.

Step 8

Serve immediately and enjoy!
