Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cups Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 0.75 cups Buttermilk
  • 2 pieces Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground cloves (optional)
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a standard 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease the cups.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves (if using), and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, melted butter, and eggs until smooth and slightly creamy.

Step 4

Add the buttermilk and vanilla extract to the wet ingredients, whisking until fully incorporated.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently with a spatula or wooden spoon. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix. The batter should remain slightly lumpy.

Step 6

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes, or until the muffins are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.

Step 8

Remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes. Transfer the muffins to a wire rack to cool completely or serve warm.
