Ingredients

  • 1 pound Large shrimp (shell-on, deveined)
  • 4 cloves Garlic cloves
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 8 pieces Wooden skewers (optional, soaked in water for 30 minutes)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Step 2

Using a sharp knife, butterfly each shrimp by cutting along the back where it has been deveined, being careful not to cut all the way through. Gently open each shrimp like a book.

Step 3

In a bowl, combine minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, parsley, paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well to create the marinade.

Step 4

Place the shrimp in a large resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the shrimp and toss to coat evenly. Seal the bag or cover the dish, then refrigerate for 15–20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 5

Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. If using skewers, thread the shrimp onto the skewers, ensuring they lay flat and open.

Step 6

Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking. Place the shrimp on the grill and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque with a slight char.

Step 7

Remove the shrimp from the grill and serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley and lemon wedges if desired.
