Ingredients

  • 500 grams Brussels sprouts
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 slices Bacon
  • 50 grams Dried cranberries
  • 30 grams Sliced almonds
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Balsamic glaze
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any damaged outer leaves. Slice them in half lengthwise.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the bacon. Cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Once cool, crumble the bacon into small pieces.

Step 3

Drain any excess bacon fat from the skillet, leaving about 1 tablespoon. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet and increase the heat to medium-high.

Step 4

Place the Brussels sprouts cut-side down in the skillet in a single layer. Allow them to sear undisturbed for 4-5 minutes, until they develop a golden-brown crust.

Step 5

Toss the Brussels sprouts and continue cooking for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add another tablespoon of olive oil if needed.

Step 6

Reduce the heat to medium. Mince the garlic and add it to the skillet, stirring until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Step 7

Add the dried cranberries and sliced almonds to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Step 8

Season the Brussels sprouts medley with salt and black pepper, adjusting to taste.

Step 9

Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the mixture and gently toss to coat.

Step 10

Transfer the Brussels sprouts medley to a serving dish, sprinkle the crumbled bacon on top, and serve warm.
