Ingredients

  • 4 cups Broccoli florets
  • 6 slices Bacon
  • 0.5 large Red onion
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup Sunflower seeds
  • 0.75 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Rinse them under cold water and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel. Set aside.

Step 2

Dice the red onion finely and set it aside.

Step 3

In a skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until it is crispy on both sides, about 7-10 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel to absorb excess grease. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, prepare the dressing by combining mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, granulated sugar, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth and well combined.

Step 5

Add the broccoli florets, diced red onion, shredded cheddar cheese, sunflower seeds, and crumbled bacon into the bowl with the dressing. Toss everything together until the salad is evenly coated in the dressing.

Step 6

Cover the salad and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. This step is optional but highly recommended.

Step 7

Remove the salad from the fridge, give it a final toss, and serve chilled. Enjoy as a side dish or a light main course!
