Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry sheets
  • 200 grams Brie cheese
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 100 grams cranberry sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Once cooked, place the bacon on a paper towel to drain excess grease and let it cool. Then, chop the bacon into small pieces.

Step 3

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each sheet into 8 equal squares (16 squares total).

Step 4

Cut the Brie cheese into 16 small cubes, roughly 1 to 1.5 cm in size.

Step 5

Place one cube of Brie in the center of each puff pastry square.

Step 6

Add about 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce on top of the Brie and sprinkle a few bacon pieces over the sauce.

Step 7

Fold the corners of each pastry square toward the center to enclose the filling and pinch the edges to seal.

Step 8

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to make an egg wash. Brush the egg wash over the tops of the pastries.

Step 9

Arrange the pastries on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 cm of space between each pastry.

Step 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed.

Step 11

Remove the pastries from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.
