Ingredients

  • 1 lb Pizza dough
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 4 Bacon slices
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup Diced bell pepper
  • 0.25 cup Chopped green onions
  • 1 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.

Step 3

Crack the eggs into a bowl, add the milk, salt, and pepper, and whisk until combined.

Step 4

In the same skillet, pour in the whisked eggs and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the eggs are softly scrambled. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 5

Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the pizza dough into a large round, approximately 12 inches in diameter.

Step 6

On one half of the dough, layer the scrambled eggs, crumbled bacon, shredded mozzarella, diced bell peppers, and chopped green onions, leaving about an inch of border around the edge.

Step 7

Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a semi-circle. Press the edges together and crimp with a fork to seal the calzone.

Step 8

Transfer the calzone to the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush the top with olive oil.

Step 9

Use a sharp knife to cut 2-3 small slits in the top of the calzone to allow steam to escape during baking.

Step 10

Bake the calzone in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.

Step 11

Remove from the oven and let the calzone cool for 5 minutes. Slice and serve warm. Enjoy your hearty breakfast calzone!
