Directions

Step 1

Add the warm water, milk, egg, softened butter, sugar, and salt to the bread machine pan, in the order recommended by the manufacturer.

Carefully add the bread flour on top of the liquid ingredients. Create a small well in the flour and add the instant yeast or bread machine yeast into the well.

Set the bread machine to the 'Dough' setting and allow it to mix, knead, and rise. This process usually takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Once the dough cycle is complete, turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions for standard hamburger buns, or 10 portions for smaller buns.
