Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (frozen sheet, thawed)
  • 100 grams blue cheese, crumbled
  • 60 grams cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 egg egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Lightly dust a clean work surface with all-purpose flour. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet into a slightly larger rectangle (approximately 10x12 inches).

Step 3

In a small mixing bowl, combine the crumbled blue cheese, softened cream cheese, chopped parsley, chopped chives, and garlic powder. Stir until evenly blended into a smooth mixture.

Step 4

Spread the blue cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border along the edges.

Step 5

Starting from one of the longer sides, roll the puff pastry tightly into a log. Use your fingers to gently press and seal the edge of the dough.

Step 6

Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 1/2-inch thick slices to create pinwheel shapes. Arrange the slices on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Step 7

Brush the top of each pinwheel lightly with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish during baking.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the pinwheels are puffed and golden brown.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before serving.

Step 10

Serve warm or at room temperature as a delicious appetizer or snack.
