Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 0.5 cup Blue cheese crumbles
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 4 Hamburger buns
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 4 Tomato slices
  • 4 Red onion slices
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, blue cheese crumbles, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Use your hands to gently mix the ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 2

Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty approximately 3/4-inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent it from bulging during cooking.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and allow it to heat up for about 1 minute.

Step 4

Place the patties in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on the first side without pressing down on them. Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (160°F for medium).

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, butter the insides of the hamburger buns. Toast the buns in a separate skillet or on a grill over medium heat until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard together to create a simple burger sauce.

Step 7

To assemble the burgers, spread the mayonnaise-Dijon mixture on the bottom halves of the toasted buns. Add a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and a slice of red onion on top.

Step 8

Place the cooked patties on the prepared buns, and finish with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately and enjoy your gourmet Blue Cheese Burgers!
