Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 4 pieces Large eggs
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cup Sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 0.25 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Fresh berries or fruit preserves (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with 2 tablespoons of butter, setting aside the remaining butter.

Step 2

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together 2 eggs, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually stir in the flour and milk, alternating between the two, until you have a smooth batter. Set aside.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, powdered sugar, and the remaining 2 eggs. Beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy with no lumps.

Step 4

Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.

Step 5

Carefully spoon the cheese mixture over the batter layer, spreading it gently to create an even layer without disturbing the batter below.

Step 6

Pour the remaining batter over the cheese layer, spreading it gently to cover the cheese mixture.

Step 7

Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and drizzle it over the top layer of batter.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set in the center.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Step 10

Serve warm, topped with fresh berries or fruit preserves if desired. Enjoy!
