Ingredients

  • 600 grams beef steak
  • 250 grams button mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 100 milliliters white wine
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 0 to taste salt
  • 0 to taste black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Begin by preparing the ingredients. Slice the beef steak into thin strips and season with salt and pepper. Clean the button mushrooms with a damp paper towel and slice them. Finely chop the onion and garlic.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips in batches, cooking them until they are browned on all sides, about 4 minutes per batch. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the chopped onion and sauté until it's translucent, about 3 minutes.

Step 4

Add the sliced garlic and cook for another minute, being careful not to let it burn.

Step 5

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook them until they have released their water and are golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 6

Pour the white wine into the skillet, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes, reducing slightly.

Step 7

Return the beef strips to the skillet, stirring to combine them with the mushroom mixture. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper.

Step 8

Lower the heat and simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Step 9

Sprinkle the dish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Step 10

Serve hot with your choice of sides, such as mashed potatoes or rice.
