  • 300 grams Penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 300 grams Beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 200 grams Asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 150 grams Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 200 milliliters Heavy cream
  • 50 grams Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoons Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh basil leaves, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Cook the penne pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef sirloin and season it with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until browned and just cooked through, then transfer the beef to a plate and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil, along with the minced garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the asparagus pieces to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing everything together to evenly coat the pasta in the sauce. Taste and adjust seasonings with additional salt, black pepper, or red pepper flakes, if desired.
