Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ribeye steak
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 medium Red bell pepper
  • 1 medium Green bell pepper
  • 1 medium Yellow onion
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • 4 Sandwich buns
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder

Directions

Step 1

Season the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper on both sides. Let it rest at room temperature for 10 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

Step 2

Slice the red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and yellow onion into thin strips. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until a nice crust forms. Reduce the heat to medium, brush both sides with BBQ sauce, and cook for an additional 2 minutes per side. Remove the steak from the skillet, cover it with foil, and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Step 4

In the same skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced peppers and onions, seasoning with a pinch of salt and garlic powder. Sauté until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 5

Thinly slice the cooked steak against the grain. Toss the steak slices with any remaining BBQ sauce for extra flavor.

Step 6

Halve the sandwich buns and spread butter on the cut sides. Toast them in a clean skillet over medium heat until golden brown and slightly crispy.

Step 7

Assemble the sandwich by layering slices of steak, the sautéed peppers and onions, and a slice of provolone cheese on the bottom half of each bun. Close the sandwich with the top half of the bun.

Step 8

Serve warm and enjoy your BBQ Steak Peppers Sandwich with your favorite sides!
