Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground pork
  • 90 milliliters barbecue sauce
  • 60 grams breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 pieces burger buns
  • 4 leaves lettuce
  • 4 slices sliced tomato
  • 4 rings sliced red onion
  • 4 pieces cheddar cheese slices
  • 60 grams mayonnaise (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, 60 milliliters of barbecue sauce, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly combined.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty, about 1.5 cm thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help them cook evenly.

Step 3

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Place the patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F). During the last minute of cooking, brush the patties with the remaining barbecue sauce and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top to melt slightly.

Step 5

Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 30 seconds, or until lightly browned.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise (optional) on the bottom bun, followed by a lettuce leaf, a grilled pork patty with melted cheese, a tomato slice, and a red onion ring. Top with the other half of the bun.

Step 7

Serve immediately and enjoy your barbecued pork burgers!
