Ingredients

  • 12 sheets Phyllo dough sheets
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup Walnuts, finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup Pistachios, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground cloves
  • 0.5 cup Honey
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a mini muffin tin by lightly greasing it with melted butter.

Step 2

In a bowl, combine the chopped walnuts, chopped pistachios, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves. Mix well and set aside.

Step 3

Carefully unroll the phyllo dough sheets and cover them with a damp kitchen towel to prevent them from drying out.

Working with one phyllo sheet at a time, brush it lightly with melted butter. Fold the sheet in half and brush again with butter.

Cut the buttered sheet into squares roughly 2.5 inches wide. Gently press each square into a mini muffin tin cavity to form a small cup shape.

Once the baklava bites come out of the oven, immediately spoon a small amount of the warm honey syrup into each cup. Allow the bites to cool and absorb the syrup.
