Ingredients

  • 16 oz Ziti pasta
  • 4 cups Marinara sauce
  • 1 lb Ground Italian sausage
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup Fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
