Ingredients

  • 1 15-ounce can Kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 4 cups Beef or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Taco seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese (optional for garnish)
  • 1 cup Tortilla chips (optional for garnish)
  • 0.5 cup Sour cream (optional for garnish)
  • 0.25 cup Chopped fresh cilantro (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

If using ground beef, heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat and set aside. If using shredded chicken, skip this step and proceed to sautéing the onion.
