Ingredients

  • 2 large Potatoes
  • 1 cup Green peas
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 medium Tomato
  • 3 pieces Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 1 piece Green chili
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro leaves

Directions

Step 1

Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes. Set aside.

Step 2

Finely chop the onion and tomatoes. Mince the garlic and ginger, and slit the green chili lengthwise.

Step 3

Heat oil in a deep pan or pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Stir in the minced garlic, ginger, and green chili. Sauté for a minute until fragrant.

Add diced tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.

Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook the spices for 2 minutes.
