Ingredients

  • 4 cups Fresh or frozen pitted cherries
  • 0.33 cups Granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoons Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cups Old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 0.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.33 cups Brown sugar, packed
  • 0.5 cups Sliced almonds
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 0.33 cups Unsalted butter, melted

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the cherries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Stir until the cherries are well coated, then transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Step 3

In a medium bowl, prepare the crumble topping by mixing together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, sliced almonds, and ground cinnamon.

Step 4

Drizzle the melted butter over the dry topping mixture. Use a fork or your hands to combine until the mixture becomes crumbly and evenly moistened.

Step 5

Sprinkle the almond-oat topping evenly over the cherry mixture in the baking dish.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the cherry filling is bubbling around the edges.

Step 7

Remove the crisp from the oven and let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Step 8

Serve warm on its own or with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
