Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Cornstarch
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Rice vinegar
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, and brown sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.

Step 2

2. In another bowl or measuring cup, mix the cornstarch and water until fully dissolved to create a cornstarch slurry. Set aside.

Step 3

3. Heat a medium-sized pan or wok over medium heat. Add the vegetable oil and sesame oil.

Step 4

4. Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until aromatic, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 5

5. Pour the soy sauce mixture into the pan and stir to combine with the garlic and ginger.

Step 6

6. Add the cornstarch slurry to the pan and stir well. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.

Step 7

7. Stir in the rice vinegar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Step 8

8. Remove from heat and use immediately as a stir-fry sauce, or let cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
