Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cup, chopped onion
  • 2 cloves, minced garlic
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking dish by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together thoroughly but do not overmix to avoid a dense loaf.

Step 3

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared baking dish and shape it into a loaf approximately 2–3 inches high.

Step 4

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and mustard to create the glaze.

Step 5

Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 6

Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 55–60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) when checked with a meat thermometer.

Step 7

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Step 8

Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple side salad for a complete and satisfying meal.
