Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French baguette
  • 200 grams Sliced deli turkey
  • 150 grams Sliced cheddar cheese
  • 4 leaves Leaf lettuce
  • 1 large Tomato
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 50 grams Pickles
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Step 2

Slice the baguette crosswise into 1-inch sections, making sure not to cut all the way through the bottom crust. The loaf should remain intact at the base, resembling an accordion.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and Dijon mustard together to create a spread.

Step 4

Thinly slice the tomato and season the slices with salt and black pepper.

Step 5

Carefully open each section of the baguette and spread a small amount of the mayonnaise-mustard mixture inside each cut.

Step 6

Layer a folded slice of deli turkey, a folded slice of cheddar cheese, a tomato slice, a piece of lettuce, and a thinly sliced pickle into each slit of the baguette.

Step 7

Heat the butter in a small saucepan until melted. Brush the top of the baguette lightly with the melted butter to give it a golden crust.

Step 8

Wrap the prepared baguette loosely in aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes to warm the fillings and lightly toast the bread.

Step 9

Carefully remove the sandwich from the oven and let it cool for a minute or two before serving.

Step 10

Cut through the bottom of the baguette to separate the individual sandwich sections, and serve warm or at room temperature.
