Ingredients

  • 2 sheets Puff pastry sheets
  • 300 grams Ribeye steak (or preferred cut)
  • 4 tablespoons A1 steak sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 small Red onion
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 cup Sweet corn (cooked kernels)
  • 1 large Avocado
  • 1 cup Cherry tomatoes
  • 0.25 cup Cilantro
  • 1 whole Lime
  • 1 large Egg

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper, then sear it for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before chopping into small pieces.

Step 3

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the minced garlic and diced red onion until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Stir in the chopped steak and A1 steak sauce, mixing well. Remove from heat and let cool.

Step 4

Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut each sheet into 6 equal squares. Place about 1 tablespoon of the steak mixture in the center of each square.

Step 5

Fold each square diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges together to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for extra security and a decorative touch.

Step 6

Beat the egg in a small bowl and lightly brush it over the tops of the pastry triangles. Place them on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and puffed.

Step 7

While the pastries bake, prepare the corn and avocado salsa: dice the avocado and cherry tomatoes, finely chop the cilantro, and combine them with the corn in a mixing bowl. Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture and toss gently. Add salt to taste.

Step 8

Serve the steak puffs warm with the corn and avocado salsa on the side for dipping or topping.
